The digital transformation of the health and social care sector requires new ways of managing, sharing, and leveraging data in a secure, interoperable, and people-centered manner. In this context, EDS2, a Data Spaces Demonstrator Center for the health and social care sector, has been created.
EDS2 aims to drive a new generation of data-driven services, promoting innovation, efficiency, and improved care quality in the field of health and social services. The project seeks to facilitate access to digital infrastructures and advanced technologies, foster new service models, and generate an ecosystem of collaboration among public, private, technological, and socio-health stakeholders.
During this Unboxing session, we presented EDS2 together with GAIA, exploring its value proposition and real use cases that are already underway. In addition, the SQS team delivered a live demo of dSpacer, the technological platform underpinning the data space, where we were able to see in action the management of connectors, data catalogs, transaction control, and participant registry.
There are two ways to participate in EDS2: as a Promoter, for organizations that want to create and govern their own trusted environment; or as a Participant, joining existing environments to publish or consume data.
Among the use cases, the digital passport of healthcare training has been highlighted, which connects sector workers with public administrations, and ATDOC, a use case focused on building a comprehensive profile of dependent elderly people by integrating data from multiple sources, among others.

As part of BAIDATA’s new series of webinars titled ‘Unboxing,’ we have created a space dedicated to showcasing the technological solutions that are transforming data spaces, promoting interoperability, and strengthening digital sovereignty in various sectors. With this series, we want to open the ‘box’ of innovation and analyse, in a practical and accessible way, how different organisations are building reliable and sustainable data ecosystems.
With this initiative, we hope that ‘Unboxing’ will become a key event for discovering relevant ideas, inspiring new collaborations, promoting knowledge exchange, and highlighting the value of the solutions presented, which enable a more reliable and sovereign digital ecosystem.
Mario de Francisco Ruiz (CEO of Anjana Data) and Lucía Engo Bermejo (Head of Customer Success at Anjana Data) jhave led the first session of this series, presenting ADP4DS (Anjana Data Platform For Data Spaces), a product developed by this Spanish company to offer Data Space promoters a plug-and-play technological tool for quickly and efficiently building data spaces, avoiding costly developments and allowing users to focus on use cases and the business model.
During the session, a practical demonstration of the platform was also conducted, showcasing its main features, ease of use, interface adapted to different participant profiles, and how it facilitates the implementation, operation, and administration of a Data Space.
Following the main standards and frameworks in Data Management, European Regulation and Normative, Data Spaces and Open Data, ADP4DS provides a comprehensive solution for implementing and managing Data Spaces in SaaS, PaaS or IaaS formats. Its architecture is scalable, interoperable, modular and open, and enables customisation through low-code and no-code. The platform, which is based on established and globally recognised technology, offers a tailored experience to different types of users, such as producers, administrators and consumers. It provides advanced capabilities for expert users and simplifies implementation, operation and management with a low learning curve. In addition, it has a flexible pay-per-use model that offers unlimited coverage of connectors and participants, ensuring scalability and efficiency in the management of Data Spaces.
The session also emphasised that ADP4DS is a reality thanks to the Product and Service Promotion Plan grant (Plan de Impulso de Productos y Servicios), thereby strengthening a fully Spanish technological solution that supports the digital and technological sovereignty of the entire European data ecosystem.
