The Private Healthcare Data Space: closer than ever

24 de janeiro de 2025

DESCRIPCIÓN

The IDIS Foundation (Institute for the Development and Integration of Healthcare) has begun to create a health data bank capable of improving the management, exchange, and use of health information in the private healthcare environment in Spain.

With support from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, among others, it seeks to move towards a system that enables cross-organisational interoperability and secure access to medical information. This project is structured in four key areas: the construction of a centralised data platform, the development and definition of the governance of the ecosystem, the detection and development of use cases, and technical support to guarantee the quality, privacy and efficiency of the information.

In addition to enhancing personalised healthcare and improving health management, the project has the potential to promote medical research and enhance disease prevention, contributing to a more effective healthcare system. Cooperation between different entities in the health sector will be essential to achieve these goals, establishing Spain as a leader in the use of health data in the private sector.
