For the first time, members of the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) are hosting an entire week focused on data spaces in Japan! The Data Society Alliance (DSA), in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, the Asia Open Data Partnership (AODP), the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA), IEEE, and the International Open Forum on Data Society (IOFDS), are thrilled to announce the Data Spaces Week 2024 in Tokyo, Japan.

This week-long event, dedicated to advancing international data space initiatives, will take place from Monday, October 7, to Friday, October 11, 2024, at the University of Tokyo’s Hongo Campus.

The event will feature a series of key data-related activities throughout the week, forming a comprehensive program: the Data Society Alliance Open Forum, the IEEE SA P3800 Working Group Meet-up, the Asia Open Data Partnership Summit 2024, and the International Open Forum on Data Society. A highlight of the week will be on Wednesday, October 9, with the joint AODP Symposium and the 2nd Data Spaces Discovery Day Tokyo, building on the success of the 2023 edition. This collaboration between AODP, representing the Asian data community, and IDSA, representing the European data space community, will be a central feature. Furthermore, the IOFDS will bring together organizations from across Asia, offering a unique opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Asia and Europe in the field of data sharing.
