The BAIDATA Forum will once again make Bilbao the European Data Capital on 14 June at the Euskalduna Conference Centre

  • The BAIDATA Forum will be attended by national and international leaders in the development of the data economy
  • The forum, under the theme "Data Meets Business", will be held on 14 June at the Euskalduna Conference Centre from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • The Forum will focus on the experiences of the BAIDATA community for the implementation of data spaces and the development of new areas of business opportunities in the social, territorial and industrial fields

For the second consecutive year and after a successful first edition in 2022 and coinciding again with the EU Data Week, the BAIDATA Association will hold its II BAIDATA Forum on 14 June at the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao, once again turning Bilbao into the European Data Capital for a day. BAIDATA, an association for the development of the data economy in the Iberian Peninsula, with its headquarters in Bilbao, has nearly 50 pioneering organisations and clusters fully committed to the development of the data economy and high quality sovereign data spaces.

The 2nd BAIDATA Forum, with the support of the International Data Space Association (IDSA), will feature leading national and international experts who will share their experiences in the implementation of initiatives to promote the development of a data economy based on the deployment of data spaces. Panels will discuss the challenges, present the latest cutting-edge solutions and share the most recent advances in the development of data ecosystems and new business areas for the development of value-added services related to the data economy. In addition, panels will delve into the steps needed to align Gaia-X European cloud infrastructures with data transaction services standards, protocols and IDSA connector certification programmes for the deployment of sovereign data spaces.

The forum will allow to connect with the national and international BAIDATA ecosystem and gain an understanding of the steps that the industry is taking to drive the leadership of the data economy and the standardisation of data spaces in order to create environments in which organisations can share data, including sensitive industrial data, in a reliable and secure way.

The forum will allow to understand the various possibilities to participate in the opportunities and concrete activities that are being launched from BAIDATA at national and European level in the field of knowledge generation, talent and technology development and the creation of ecosystems so that companies, public administration and citizens have easy access to an almost infinite amount of high quality industrial data in a controlled way and can develop added value services in a way that boosts growth, sustainability and quality of life.

Through the practical experiences of the companies and players in the BAIDATA ecosystem, the Forum will provide an understanding of why the future of data lies in incorporating sovereign data management. The BAIDATA Forum will present how the pioneering BAIDATA ecosystem is approaching from multiple perspectives the deployment of data spaces for the development of territories, society and industry and its connection with the common European data space through the IDSA standards and reference models.
