EU to mobilise €200 billion for AI investment through InvestAI

During the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit held on February 11 in Paris, the European Commission announced the creation of InvestAI. This initiative aims to mobilize 200 billion euros of investment in AI and includes the creation of four AI gigafactories that will specialize in training the most complex and largest AI models.

These gigafactories will be based on the European model of collaborative and open innovation and will focus on developing complex industrial applications that can serve strategic sectors. The Commission's initial funding for InvestAI will come from existing EU funding programs that have a digital component, such as the Digital Europe Program and Horizon Europe.
