IDSA sets out the fundamental guidelines to create data spaces in the new Data Space Manifesto

DESCRIPCIÓN
The Data Space Manifesto has been published by the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA). This manifesto lays out the essential guidelines for creating data spaces that are safe, reliable, and efficient. It emphasises that cooperation must be based on mutual confidence, data sharing must be secure, and data suppliers must maintain complete control. Common organisational issues like losing control over data, being exposed to unfair competition, or joining unfair relationships are promptly addressed.
The manifesto proposes decentralised, neutral data spaces where no particular entity dominates and all players have equal rights in order to mitigate these threats. Organisations require robust frameworks to unlock data value, maintain competitiveness, and comply with new legal requirements as innovation becomes more reliant on data sharing and legislation such as the European Data Act increase compliance obligations.
Principles of trusted data sharing in data spaces:
- Data spaces are a mechanism to create trust
- Your data, your choice
- With great responsibility comes great power
- Data spaces are decentralized and neutral
- Data does not flow through the data space
- Unity in standards—freedom in implementation
- There is no single platform to rule them all
- Data spaces are not data ecosystems
- The opportunity is boundless
- Act in good faith, but verify
