The Professional Certification Program is the second pillar of EDS2’s training strategy, aimed at formally certifying the competencies of professionals in the ecosystem in the field of data spaces. This program is endorsed by the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA), and the courses are taught by the ATP (Authorized Training Partner) SQS.

What is the Data Spaces Fundamentals certification?

It is an introductory professional qualification that provides a basic understanding of data spaces and their key aspects, within the “Fundamentals” level of the IDSA certification program. It is an essential step for any professional who wants to be part of this growing ecosystem.

Course Content

Throughout the course, we will cover the key fundamentals of data spaces: introduction and use cases, enterprise, functional, and technical architecture, governance, data trust and sovereignty, interoperability under the IDS framework, business models and value creation, and methodologies for onboarding organizations with low levels of digitization.

By the end of the course, you will be able to describe the advantages, challenges, and key components of data spaces, analyze opportunities for interoperability and collaboration, and apply this knowledge to real-world projects, particularly within the IDS framework.

Upon completing the training, you will be prepared to take the official Data Spaces Fundamentals exam (exam registration not included).
