CEN and CENELEC have published the second package of European standards developed to support the implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP) in Europe. Developed by CEN-CLC/JTC 24, these new standards complete the set of technical specifications needed to move toward an interoperable and secure DPP in the long term.

The new package includes EN 18239:2026, on access rights management, system security, and business confidentiality, and EN 18246:2026, which focuses on authentication, reliability, and data integrity. These two standards complement the six already cited in the Official Journal of the European Union, which cover aspects such as exchange protocols, unique identifiers, data carriers, storage, APIs, and system interoperability. The new standards provide a fresh impetus for the adoption of the DPP and will help organizations demonstrate regulatory compliance more efficiently and with greater legal certainty.
