The International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Bilbao with an intensive programme of strategic meetings and a commemorative event bringing together international representatives, technology leaders, and key organisations from the European data spaces ecosystem.

This celebration is part of the Data Economy Week, taking place at the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao from 9 to 11 June, positioning Bizkaia as the European hub for data sovereignty. Far from being a forum for theoretical reflection, the Week is where the data economy becomes a reality: from global standards to concrete industrial applications.

To mark this milestone, IDSA has organised a series of high-level gatherings that will make Bilbao a focal point for discussions on the present and future of these technologies. The programme will begin with the Global Data Spaces Roundtable, building on previous meetings held in Barcelona and Beijing. The forum will bring together some of the sector’s leading global figures, with representatives from China, Japan, several European countries, and multilateral organisations, to analyse the evolution of data spaces and strengthen international collaboration.

In addition, leaders of the main European Common Data Spaces will take part in a coordination meeting within the framework of the Data Spaces Support Centre (DSSC), further reinforcing Europe’s role in promoting secure and sovereign digital infrastructures.

The day will conclude with IDSA’s 10th Anniversary Celebration Event, featuring a conference with organisations that have accompanied the association throughout the past decade. Lars Nagel, CEO of IDSA and a key driving force behind its international development, will lead an event in which participants will share their perspectives on the evolution of the ecosystem and the role IDSA has played in establishing data spaces at an international level. The celebration will end with a dinner attended by the association’s members and partners.
