The Private Healthcare Data Space: closer than ever
Work has begun on the development of a private healthcare data platform, with the aim of improving the management, exchange and use of healthcare information within the private healthcare sector in Spain.
With support from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, amongst others, the aim is to move towards a system that enables interoperability between organisations and secure access to medical information. This project is structured around four key areas: the construction of a centralised data platform; the development and definition of the ecosystem’s governance; the identification and development of use cases; and technical support to ensure the quality, privacy and efficiency of the information.
As well as promoting personalised healthcare and improving health administration, the project has the potential to foster medical research and enhance disease prevention, contributing to a more effective healthcare system. Cooperation between different organisations in the healthcare sector will be essential to achieving these objectives, establishing Spain as a leader in the use of health data in the private sector.
