Data spaces need more than just technology to function: they need trust. Who is on the other side? Do they have the authority to act on behalf of their company? Is the data received reliable, and does it mean the same thing to both parties? European digital identity wallets aim to be the foundation that makes that trust possible.
Raquel Garay, from Izenpe, will explain how verifiable credentials enable citizens and businesses to prove who they are, whom they represent or what characteristics they possess, and to ensure that data is accompanied by guarantees regarding its origin, reliability and meaning. To demonstrate this in action, she will draw on the relationship between the EUDI Wallet and the European Business Wallet, two wallets that illustrate how this trust and interoperability translate into real-world data exchange scenarios.
The session will begin with the basics, offering a quick overview of concepts such as semantics, attributes and rulebooks, before moving on to practical applications. Izenpe will share its experience of the European WE BUILD project, what is currently being developed and, in more detail, BU3 – the ‘Foreign Tax Declaration’ business use case – which it is being developed in collaboration with GFA and Izfe.
An event for anyone wishing to understand how European digital identity can drive data exchange between organisations.
