The European Commission Launches the Digital Product Passport Registry
Since July 20, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) Registry is operational on the European Commission’s website, marking a key step toward making the Digital Product Passport a reality in the European market. This registry serves as a common infrastructure for identifying and registering products and their key data, thereby enhancing supply chain transparency and traceability.
Its launch marks the beginning of a new phase for companies, which will need to prepare to integrate digital information about their products and demonstrate compliance with European requirements. The system will be rolled out gradually, beginning with the entry into force of the DPP for certain categories of batteries on February 18, 2027.
